The appliance in question is a Hamilton Beach blender. It does all of the standard blender-type stuff. When we picked it up from Fingerhut, we got an especially good deal, because they included a separate food processor unit. You merely remove the blender unit from the base and substitute the food processor.
The food processor does pretty much what the larger ones do, only on a smaller scale. I don't think I'd recommend trying to prepare dinner for The Brady Bunch or the Eight Is Enough crowd, but for the 2 of us, it performs admirably. (sorry...did I just date myself...? o well, chalk it up to too much "Nick At Night")
