I love O'Reilly, and they're a great publisher, but they're not the only game in town. Following are ten great books that didn't come out of Sebastopol. I'm not saying any of these books are "better" than their ORA counterparts, if any. They're great on their own, and deserve a place on your bookshelf.
I'm specifically not going to trot out the K&R, or Knuth, or any of the other warhorses in the canon. They receive enough praise already.
