Andy's mom also provided everyone with a nametag so we knew who we were. Amy's cousin Jen dubbed her "Her Brideness". Andy was tagged "The Man Of The Party" by his cousin Mark.

Large, sweaty men ponder how they're going to rip up the sidewalk | |
| In the middle of all the festivities, a work crew pulled up in the street in front of Marilyn's house. Four workmen started sizing up the sidewalk, which was slated to be dug up and replaced because of how cracked and uneven it was. We didn't know that it would be done right then, but there they were, with a little skiploader and a dump truck. | ||
|
Jerry, Amy's brother-in-law who is a construction manager, scurried over to talk cement.
He quizzed the men out about the per-square replacement cost down in Illinois, compared to
his native Wisconsin.
Once the men started, they made short work of the sidewalk. The skiploader scooped up squares and dumped 'em into the back of the truck, where a man bashed 'em into pieces with a sledgehammer. After about 15 minutes, they'd pulled up ten squares and were ready to leave. |
