We woke up late morning on Saturday, since we'd decided this trip would be as relaxing as possible. We didn't bother packing until Saturday morning.
Andy was emphatic about bringing as little stuff as possible. "Bring twice the money and half the clothes", he'd said over and over again. When Amy wanted to bring a stack of unread issues of Glamour & Mademoiselle, Andy asked "When are you going to read those? You can't read in the car 'cause you get sick." Amy agreed, and brought her one issue of Cosmo, which she wound up not even reading at all.
Amy: I might have needed that Cosmo for reference, in case you took me dancing somewhere.
Andy: I think Amy has confused "Andy Lester" with "Arthur Murray". I'll point out that Amy has demanded that the crop job on the photo of her packing must include a fair portion of the pretty red comforter she bought at the Guess? Home Store.
Here's a "comical" picture of Andy having to climb on the suitcase to close it. In reality, it wasn't that heavy, and we made our way out the door with only a suitcase,
a duffel bag of toiletries, and a bunch of shirts on hangers that we wound up throwing in the back seat.
